2023.06.10 20:12 Shillelagh_Law /r/NotreDameFootball will be joining the API protest June 12th-14th.
Hello
/NotreDameFootball,
I come bearing bad news. Reddit has decided to screw over 3rd party apps. It has been an outrageous few days to say the least. The big thing is the amount reddit has decided to charge for access to their API. As you may have heard from other subreddits you are
subscribed to there will be a blackout in protest of these changes.
After some Mod Discussion we have decided to join the blackout. This will mean that you will not be able to access the subreddit from the 12th to the 14th.
Spez decided to do an AMA about this and it was a shitshow. You can find a recap of it
here.
Here is a direct link to the AMA if you'd like to peruse it yourself.
These changes will impact apps like Reddit Is Fun, Apollo and a host of others. There is also worry that it will eventually
impact things like RES and toolbox.
To me this is a signal that they are actually, this time, preparing for their IPO and want to squeeze every last dime out of this place. After years of ignoring user requests, shoving crappy changes in our faces and just being general dicks to the people who make these communities what they are I feel that this may be Reddit's Digg moment. Time will tell.
It really makes me question the time I've spent growing, moderating and creating content for the communities here.
Things you can do. - Spread the word
- Cancel you subscription if you pay for premium
- Don't give out awards
- Use an ad blocker
- Delete and don't use the offical app.
If you'd like to help out more. submitted by

2023.06.10 16:27 FitAd4717 For those from North Jersey, what college football teams do you bet on?
I'm re-watching the show and I've gotten to the part where Chrissy is made and takes over Paulie's college football betting racket. The two teams they seem to be obsessed with are USC and Notre Dame. My question is, what college football teams would real fucking degenerate gamblers from New Jersey be betting on. As someone from Elvis country, it's weird that they aren't betting on Alabama, Oklahoma, or Ohio State.

Hi!! I've been wanting to make this for myself and I assumed it would help some others too- This is the QB College Partners sorted by acceptance rate, sorted lowest to highest. For consistency, I'm using statistics from US News. Let me know if this helped in your ranking endeavors!
Caltech: 4% Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): 4% Princeton University: 4% Stanford University: 4% Yale University: 5% Brown University: 6% Columbia University: 6% Dartmouth College: 6% Duke University: 6% University of Chicago: 6% University of Pennsylvania: 6% Northwestern University: 7% Pomona College: 7% Vanderbilt University: 7% John Hopkins University: 8% Swarthmore College: 8% Amherst College: 9% Bowdoin College: 9% Colby College: 9% Rice University: 9% Williams College: 9% Barnard College: 11% Claremont McKenna College: 11% Grinnell College: 11% Tufts University: 11% Emory University: 13% Middlebury College: 13% Washington University in St. Louis: 13% University of Southern California (USC): 13% Colorado College: 14% Hamilton College: 14% University of Notre Dame: 15% Wellesley College: 16% Colgate University: 17% Carleton College: 18% Davidson College: 18% Haverford College: 18% Boston College: 19% Boston University: 19% Washington and Lee University (W&L): 19% Wesleyan University: 19% Vassar College: 20% University of Virginia: 21% Denison University: 28% Case Western Reserve University: 30% Scripps College: 30% Smith College: 30% Macalester College: 31% Oberlin College: 34% College of the Holy Cross: 43%
PS Please take multiple multiple factors into account when ranking colleges, not just admission rate and statistics! Look into the overall community, location, and majors they offer, even if you plan to only use undergrad to pursue graduate school later on. Best of luck to us all!

2023.06.10 04:13 aSlanketFullOfFarts Help finding two Dave stories
I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out which episodes have these stories! They both made me cackle when I first listened and I’ve been going through old episodes (both had to have been pre August 2019) trying to find them!
- Dave at Notre Dame for Christmas and saying “buh bon” to the priest
- Dave talking about a friend getting the name wrong in the Importance of Being Ernest in front of his family that didn’t agree with him getting an acting degree

2023.06.10 03:53 Benji_57 5 Things I Hope NCAAFB 24 Does
1) Road To Glory Multiple Positions.
Madden went to only being able to play as a QB boring!!!!
2) Bring back Iconic Moments.
It was so fun trying to take a kick back to win the game or a Hail Mary or goal line stop. Give me Notre Dame’s Goal Line stand against Stanford or Texas Tech’s last second TD to beat Texas.
3) Bring back the large trophy case. It was fun playing through the Rivalries the battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe. Loved collecting those trophies.
4) Bring back disciplinary action in Dynasty. Kids are kids and make mistakes. It was fun dealing with stuff that actual coaches deal with.
5) Bring back the FCS Teams!

2023.06.10 00:04 godzillavkk What I think a villain song for Andrealphus should be like
If Andre, is feeding off his sister's insecurity (that crying of hers indicates she's trying to hide a softer side) I think he should get a villain song that's a combo of two songs.
Painkiller from Three Days Grace, and
Stay in Here from
The Hunchback of Notre Dame. While I'm sure you've all heard
Stay in Here, and how it shows how Frollo is keeping Qusimodo on his leach, Painkiller is a bit different. It's another rock song about love being an addictive drug... but in this case it's about the narrator offering to be someone else's drug.
I think both fit right up Andre's avenue, and confirm that his sister is but his pawn, and he's the true villain behind it all. As for the song, he uses Stella's doubts and insecurities to make her think he's the ONLY person she can love and trust, and that he could "comfort her". But of course... it's filled with red flags that indicate abuse and gaslighting. Bonus points if it reveals their childhood and he's partially responsible for her going bad, and that she is also a abuse victim in a much larger abuse cycle.
Here are the songs if you are curious

2023.06.09 23:32 DohnJunne 5 days in June - (Have I horribly misunderstood Google Maps?)
We're visiting Paris from 19 June to 24 June, and are aiming for a balance of wanders & museums/sights. I also love bookstores, antiques, and unique little shops, so would be grateful for your suggestions!
I'm terrible at geographical logistics, even with Google Maps, so are there ways I could be more efficiently planning routes? Have I packed in too much? Any can't-miss stops I should add or take out? Many thanks in advance for the review!
MONDAY 19 June - Morning: Arrive at 8 AM, staying near Commerce metro stop
- Afternoon/Evening: Will be jetlagged, so loosely planned walk to Eiffel Tower, Arc du Triomphe (not planning to go up either), down Champs-Élysées, maybe picnic in Jardins de Tuileries before turning in early. (Stop by Librairie Galignani)
TUESDAY 20 June - Morning/Breakfast at Les Enfants Rouge Food Market
- 10:30 - 12:30 PM Paris Walks walking tour of le Marais
- Lunch at L'As du Fallafel
- Wandeshop le Marais (Merci, Buly), Maison Victor Hugo, possibly go to Picasso Museum
- Dinner at Verjus, rooftop drinks at Galeries Lafayette
WEDNESDAY, 21 June - Breakfast/Morning: Ile de la Cite for Notre-dame (ext) and Sainte Chapelle
- Afternoon: Wandeshop Latin Quarter (Shakespeare & Co, Deyrolle), possibly Musee Rodin
- 4 - 7 PM: Paris Greeter Tour - Location TBD (The kindest greeter offered to take us on a walk to see live music for Fête de la musique, we'll have dinner with him)
- 10 PM: Worth it to go to the concert at Louvre or just walk along the Seine, check out some of the plazas? We love music, so we're thrilled we'll be here for the Fête
THURSDAY 22 JUNE - Morning: Wandeshop around St. Germain (Marin Montagut, Deyrolle)
- Lunch: Pick up food at La Bon Marche, picnic at Luxembourg Gardens
- 2 - 4 PM: Guided tour of Louvre (Will the crowds be too intense? Might try to book Friday evening tour instead)
- Afternoon/Evening: Louvre on our own, walk around Tuileries if museumed out
- Dinner: Seulement Sea
- Possibly do evening river cruise?
FRIDAY 23 JUNE - Morning: Worth it to check out Marché Paul Bert & Marché Serpette? Or another antique market?
- Morning/Afternoon: Sacré-Cœur, then walk around Montmartre (Place du Tertre, Café des Deux Moulins, Moulin Rouge, Musee de Montmartre)
- Lunch at Café Renoir in the Musee or Le Consulat
- 3 - 5 PM: Musee d’Orsay
- 8:30 PM: Dinner at Mokoloko (Bastille)
SATURDAY 24 JUNE - Grab snacks/lunch for train, then 11:30 AM train to Avignon

2023.06.09 23:04 WoF_IceWing Metal figurines of Notre Dame and Arc de Triomphe
https://imgur.com/a/vtbL83Q
I got these three small metal figurines at Goodwill, two of which of the Notre Dame and the third of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. I put a quarter to show scale. They have no makers marks. They are also magnetic, but only with a very powerful magnet.
They appear to be pretty old due to the corrosion or something inside one of the Norte Dame's. They appear handmade or something since each of the Notre Dame's have small variations despite them being of the same building, so they were likely either damaged or not from a mold.
Located near Denver, Colorado.

2023.06.09 22:55 Apprehensive_Fun4988 Evangelization at Churches
| Why isn’t evangelization material like this a more common practice in churches? This church (the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière) is one of the few Catholic churches that I’ve seen with materials like this. When I was in Istanbul most mosques had pamphlets with information about Islam. I wish this was more commonplace in Catholic Churches. submitted by Apprehensive_Fun4988 to Catholicism [link] [comments] |
2023.06.09 22:53 Majestic-Bad6505 Pass Grade on Transcript
Hi guys! I've been admitted to a T10 uni, and I'm worried if my acceptance will be rescinded if I have a P on my transcript. For context, I took a course on accounting as an elective (unrelated to my major) for spring 2023 and I predicted my grade to be a B+/B which would lower my GPA so I did a P/F option before I got my acceptance. As of now, I'm a bit worried if I would receive a warning letterescind for doing this. Will the college admissions see this as bad or no when reviewing this on my final transcript? The other grades I got were two A- and an A for the spring semester.
